Fit Shape
Select points for the creation of geometric shapes. Automatic point selection is constrained to the input shape (planes, cylinders, and spheres).
Fit shapes & select points with constraints
The point selection is used for fitting geometric shapes that approximate the selection. The Brush Selection method is most useful as it will only select points that form a continuous surface rather then picking "through" the point cloud. Manage the selectionFeature based selection starts with small selection of points and "grows" the selection based on the input constraint; adjacent points, planar points, or cylidrical points. Fitting shapesSelected points are fitted with the appropriate geometric shape; plane, cylinder, or sphere. Use F9 for plane, F10 for cylinder, or F11 for sphere. Fit toleranceIt indicates the surface roughness and a higher than default value is especially useful to fit pipes with insulation. |
